How do I edit pictures using Photoshop to create text and different effects on the photo?
Photoshop is a wonderful program, but is has so many features that it can seem overwhelming to a new user. A tutorial is a good idea, but if you want to get started on your own, here are a few suggestions:
You should save a copy of your picture (for example, image246copy.jpg) and start playing around with the program using that copy, so even if something doesn't work or looks awful, the original picture won't get affected. (Please make sure you're working on a copy!)
The Tools palette usually appears in the upper left hand corner of the screen when you open Photoshop. You should see an arrowhead symbol (move tool) and a dotted box (marquee tool) as the first two tools in the palette. If you scroll your cursor over each box and stop, a little pop up box will appear, telling you what the tool is.
If you want to just put some type on your photo, go further down the tool palette to the ';T'; (text tool). As soon as you click on that, Photoshop will create a separate layer where the type will be created. Move your cursor to the spot on the picture where you want your type to be and start typing!
But before you do that, look at to the top of the screen. Once you're in the type tool, you should see a bar at the top that gives you choices of font, size, color, etc.
However, if you want to change your type after you type it, make sure you're in the type layer that you've created. The Layer palette should be showing on the right side of your screen. Always make sure you're in the correct layer that you want to be working in or you'll accidentally make new layers.
BTW, you can move the type around, using the Move tool I mentioned.
As you can see, there's a lot to learn. Get familiar with just a few features at one time. If you're willing to do some trial and error, along with checking out some tutorials, Photoshop can be a wonderful resource.
If u rasterize the layer you cal use the test as an image and aply lots of kool standard effect or even be more crative and make your own
image- rasterize- type
There is a text tool in Photoshop. That's how you write stuff. Then after you write it, you can apply Styles and Effects to make it look cool.
You will need to work in layers.
