What are some good alternatives to Photoshop for someone making comics?

I do a lot of webcomics and graphic novella as well as things like posters and such, but I believe photoshop isn't quite built around this sort of work. Are there any decent alternatives?

Vista user. My computer will handle anything that is compatible, so that's no problem. Many thanks in advance! What are some good alternatives to Photoshop for someone making comics?

I would say Illustrator ALL the way, its another Adobe product. I took an Illustrator class and I can barely get the thing to work for me, lawl, but alot of people i knw love it. Its Probably your best bet here as far as I know. If your looking to do comics I would suggest also purchasing a Wacom Tablet along with Illustrator it will prove to be Very very helpful. Check the sources, hope that helps.
