How to create a photo using photoshop elements 5.0 in black and white with a color focal point?

I have a photo that is already in black and white and would like to change one of the objects to a certain color. I have photoshop elements 5.0 to create my photos in. Any advice would be appreciated.How to create a photo using photoshop elements 5.0 in black and white with a color focal point?
Okay, my explanation may not be too detailed so I hope you are familiar with Photoshop Elements.


1) Use one of the lasso tools to select the area you want colored.


2) use the fill tool to fill the area in, if you want you can apply a blur to the fill or smooth to the selection.


3) Set the blend mode to ';color';.


4) Do this for whatever you want colored.


TIP: use each color on a different layer.
